Breakfast
Breakfast is such an important meal...it breaks our overnight fast, and sets us up for the day ahead, fuelling us with the energy we need. So what does a good breakfast look like?
Breakfast should be something you enjoy and keeps you feeling satiated until your next meal. Like all meals, it is best for your breakfast to be balanced – containing protein, fibre, healthy fat, and some carbohydrate - slow release wholegrain carbs are the best for keeping blood sugar levels stable (we don’t fear carbs around here!). If you're not a fan of animal protein at breakfast add in things like high protein yogurt, chia, hemp, pumpkin seeds and some nut butter. Vegetables and a piece of fruit are also a perfect addition. Here are a couple of my go to breakfasts – the smoothie I have most weekday mornings, mainly for ease while getting out the door with an 8 year old. But on the weekend I do love porridge, especially in winter. Enjoy x
